FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Availability & Process

Do you have puppies available?

We breed selectively and do not always have puppies available. Our litters are planned with long-term health, temperament, and structure in mind — not to meet demand. If you are interested, we recommend reaching out early so we can begin a conversation and determine whether a future litter may be a good fit.

How do I get on your waitlist?

We begin with a conversation. Our goal is placement success, not quick transactions. We want to understand your home, experience, lifestyle, and expectations before confirming a reservation. Please start by contacting us through our Contact Page.

How much do your puppies cost?

Each pairing and litter is thoughtfully planned. Pricing reflects health testing, preservation- focused breeding, responsible raising practices, and lifelong breeder support. We are happy to discuss current pricing after an initial conversation to ensure alignment.

Living with a Basenji

What are Basenjis like to live with?

Basenjis are intelligent, independent, and remarkably clean. They are playful and affectionate with their people, but not typically clingy. They think for themselves. Structure, boundaries, and early socialization help them thrive.

Do Basenjis bark?

Basenjis are known as the “barkless dog,” but they are not silent.
They vocalize in unique ways, including the well-known yodel.

Do Basenjis require a fenced yard?

We strongly recommend secure containment. Basenjis are sight hounds with a strong prey drive.
If they see something worth chasing, they are incredibly fast and decisive.

Living with an Alaskan Klee Kai

Are Alaskan Klee Kai just miniature Huskies?

No. While they share northern ancestry and a similar look, the Alaskan Klee Kai is a distinct companion breed with its own standard and temperament traits.

Are Klee Kai good for first-time owners?

Klee Kai are intelligent and sensitive. They thrive with calm, consistent leadership. They are not a “low-effort” breed, but dedicated owners who commit to training and structure can succeed.

Do Alaskan Klee Kai shed?

Yes. They are a double-coated northern breed and will shed seasonally. Routine brushing makes coat management straightforward.

Why can Klee Kai be reserved with strangers?

The breed standard describes them as alert and cautious. Proper socialization builds confidence, but they are not typically overly outgoing. That thoughtful temperament is part of what defines the breed.

Health & Standards

Do you health test your dogs?

Yes. Health, temperament, and structure are foundational priorities. We follow breed-appropriate health screening recommendations and prioritize long-term soundness.

Do you ship puppies?

We prioritize safe, thoughtful placement. Transport options depend on distance, timing, and the individual puppy. Please contact us directly through our Contact Page to discuss details.
